On Saturday, Ryan Moore made history on the fourth day of Royal Ascot, becoming the first ever jockey to ride nine winners at the festival.

The first race of the day, The Albany Stakes, was won by 4-1 favourite Illuminate, which was ridden by Richard Hughes, The King Edward VII was won by Balios, which was ridden to victory by Jamie Spencer and the third race of the day, The Commonwealth Cup was won by Muhaarar.

The Coronation Cup proved to be a dramatic race, with French horse Ervedya winning, narrowly beating the pre-race favourite, Found, into second place. Joint favourite Arab Dawn won the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes as Richard Hughes secured his second win of the day.

History was made in the final race of the day when Moore rode Aloft to victory in the Queen’s Vase. The 31 year old is now out on his own with most race wins in a Royal Ascot festival, and will have his sights set on further winners on the final day of the festival.

In the six races, the favourite was victorious three times.
