Royal Ascot Day Two- Dettori Rides 50th Winner

Frankie Dettori won the final race of the day on-board Osaila to secure his 50th race win at the venue, Royal Ascot. The Italian pushed favourite Always Smile into second to secure his milestone in the Sandringham Handicap.

Dutch Connection, a 14-1 shot, won the first race of the day, the Jersey Stakes, with Jockey Ryan Moore picking up his fourth winner of the festival after riding Acapulco to victory in the Queen Mary Stakes.

The Duke of Cambridge Stakes had a surprise winner, with 25-1 outsider Amazing Maria winning a tight race. 5-2 Favourite Free Eagle won a thrilling Prince of Wales’ Stakes, narrowly beating The Grey Gatsby into second place.

Ryan Moore picked up his second winner of the day in the penultimate race, the Royal Hunt Cup, to secure his fifth victory in total at the festival. This was followed up by the 44 year old Dettori winning the final race of the day to secure his landmark win.

Out of the six races, the favourite was victorious on two occasions.
