Who is the best manager in the Premier League?

With this summer’s transfer window dominating the back pages, and yet another Manchester United transfer target being revealed, all the pre-season focus has been on the players, and not the man in charge.

Despite the noble and valiant efforts of Jose Mourinho and Louis van Gaal to grab the headlines, new summer signings such as Bastian Schweinsteiger, Memphis Depay, Petr Cech and Radamel Falcao have garnered more attention. However, it is important to remember that these managers are largely responsible for how a team fares, and with the majority of Premier League managers facing the axe every year, the role of a manager is becoming increasingly stressful and challenging, so lest we forget them.

Here at The Sports Lowdown, our writer Dan Culyer takes a closer look at the men spearheading their teams’ in another Premier League season, and ranks the top 10 in order of their ability as a manager, before determining who is the best in the Premier League.
