Klitschko – Fury fight is on

In the last couple of days, a deal has been struck between Wladimir Klitschko and Tyson Fury’s camps, and the fight is now set for the 24th October in Dusseldorf, Germany where Klitschko is based.

Fury is the mandatory challenger for Klitschko’s IBF, WBO and WBA world heavyweight titles, and as usual, the Mancunian is very confident of his chances as he said “I will KO this super champ, I don’t talk unless I can back it up”, which seems to be a dig at his long time rival, David Haye, who also fought Klitschko but in a poor performance was unable to dethrone the champion.

Klitschko who is now 39 years old, has been a world champion since 2006, and in 67 fights has only been defeated 3 times. With this fight against Fury, he will top the list of all time heavyweight title fights, taking over the position from the all time great Joe Louis.

Has Fury got a chance? Yes course he does, he is a giant of a man and only takes one shot to change everything, do I think he will beat Klitschko? No. for me he will have moments in the fight, but to me likes to stand off and pick off jabs, resting between periods in rounds, for me he is made for Klitschko, who himself has a good job and is a better technical fighter.

Prediction – Klitschko to win a unaminous decision over 12 rounds.
