Leeds Rhinos moved three points clear at the top of the Super League table on Friday after a convincing 46-18 win over their nearest challengers St Helens. Leeds have now won 14 of their 20 games this season and will be hoping their latest victory over their closest rivals will give them a psychological advantage when the two sides next meet in the Super Eights.

Elsewhere, on Thursday Warrington beat Wigan to consolidate their place in the top eight, while Wigan missed their chance to close the gap on St Helens and Leeds above them. The defeat now means it is highly unlikely Wigan will top the table at the end of the regular season.

On Sunday, Hull FC beat bottom club Wakefield to secure a vital two points and move into the top eight. They now find themselves above bitter rivals Hull KR on points-difference after they were defeated by Huddersfield. With just a few games to go until the league splits, it looks like the final spot will be between the two teams from Hull.

Salford Red Devils kept alive their slim hopes of a Super Eights spot after a narrow victory over French side Catalans Dragons. Salford are now level on points with Widnes after the Vikings lost an exciting match against Castleford, who now sit in fifth place.
