England One Day skipper Eoin Morgan led from the front as the hosts leveled the series against Australia with a three wicket victory at Headingley to take the series into a decider at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Morgan scored 92 as they won with 10 balls to spare chasing down the Aussies total of 299, with Glen Maxwell (85) and George Bailey (75) taking the away side to a total that looked out of their grasp at one point.

Australia batted first and found themselves at 30-3 with David Willey, back into the side picking up all three wickets on what will be his future home ground with a winter to move to Yorkshire already in the bag.

Baily and Maxwell stemmed the tide of wickets and put on an impressive partnership of 137 before a flurry of wickets had them struggling at 215-7 before some heavy hitting from Matthew Wade (50*) and John Hastings (34*) saw them reach 299-7 off their 50 overs.

England’s reply got off to a good start despite the loss of Alex Hales cheaply once again. Jason Roy (36) and the impressive James Taylor (41) once again took the attack to the Aussies before quick wickets again threatened to derail England’s charge.

Morgan continued his fine form across the series and was joined in taking the game to the away side by Ben Stokes (41) who seemed to be discovering some of his early summer batting form. Morgan departed eight short of his century and Bairstow perished on 31 as it got nervy for England particularly when Liam Plunkett was spectacularly caught on the boundary by Maxwell, in what will go down as one of the greatest catches ever seen.

However Moeen Ali and David Willey kept a cool head to chase down the total with Willey finishing the game with a huge six as the series heads to Old Trafford for a decider.
