Here at The Sports Lowdown we bring you the latest rumours coming out of the Premier League as the build up towards the January transfer window is well under way.

Premier League and Europe:

  • Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho could lose his job should he fall to defeat against Liverpool next Saturday with the Portuguese under immense pressure. (Daily Star)
  • Pep Guardiola is Chelsea’s first choice manager to replace Mourinho if he can’t sort out his sides current run of bad form. (Telegraph)
  • Aston Villa are keen to interview ex-Everton and Manchester United manager David Moyes about the vacant managerial post at Villa Park. (Daily Express)
  • Arsenal are keen to bring back Frenchman Patrick Vieira to the club with a view to making him a manager in the future. (Daily Star)
  • Qatari club Al Arabi are interested in signing Chelsea defender John Terry whose manager is ex-Blues player Gianfranco Zola. (Daily Mirror)
  • Paul Pogba’s agent has denied there is an agreement in place for the 22-year-old French international to move to Spain at the end of the season. (Tuttosport)
  • Jamie Vardy has been identified as a shock target for Real Madrid and could make a move for him in the January transfer window. (Mirror)
  • Liverpool and Tottenham have also expressed their interest in signing Vardy from Leicester. (ESPN)
  • Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher feels the club needs to sign a new winger in the January transfer window. (Liverpool Echo)
