Premier League Preview

A preview of all the weekends’ Premier League action. Including Manchester United’s trip to Watford and the eagerly awaited clash between Manchester City and Liverpool.

Saturday:

Watford V Manchester United, 12:45, Vicarage Road.

United travel to London where they’ll take on Premier League new boys Watford. Odion Ighalo has been in some fine form for the hosts, and will look to add more to his already impressive scoring sheet. Troy Deeney has come into form of late too, scoring in his previous two Premier League matches. A win here would put United top of the league, even if it is momentarily. That is enough to fuel the visitors on and take three points back home with them.

Chelsea V Norwich City, 15:00, Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea need a win, it’s been said every week for the past month but they seriously do. They should pick up the points here too. It’s the same team as last year and they just need to rediscover that genius that was flowing so well this time last year. The Canaries have played excellent at times but their defence is an issue that needs to be resolved with immediate effect come January, they’re leaking too many silly goals in at the moment and that could come costly by May.

Everton V Aston Villa, 15:00, Goodison Park.

Romelu Lukaku has been in some fine form of late, scoring for fun it seems. When Everton play well they’re such a difficult team to defend against, Jon Stones and Ross Barkley who no doubt will be key players for England in the upcoming years are difficult players to play against. Villa looked good in their last outing, holding the league leaders to a goalless draw, they had chances to win the game too. If Everton turn up though, Villa will need to take their chances when they’re presented to them, otherwise it could be a difficult afternoon for the Midlands club in Merseyside.

Newcastle United V Leicester City, 15:00, St James’ Park.

Can Jamie Vardy equal the record of scoring in ten consecutive Premier League matches. That is the question on everybody’s mind. Although he wasn’t in his usual fine form the English fans expected during England’s friendlies, he has every chance to. Newcastle will be looking at picking up maximum points here though, as they currently sit 17th and only two points clear of the drop zone.

Southampton V Stoke, 15:00, St. Mary’s Stadium.

The recent form of Southampton is the form of the Saints last year when they were challenging for a top four finish. Mane and Graziano Pelle have bene superb of late and are the spine of the team, no doubt. Jack Butland has saved Stoke an incredible amount of points this season, and definitely a contender for goal keeper of the season thus far. Jonathan Walters will be hoping to take his international heroics into club form Saturday afternoon.
