With Leeds, Wigan and St Helens in action in the Club World Championship, only last season’s bottom four played in Super League as they will be involved in earlier Challenge Cup than the remaining eight Super Leagues sides. Leeds, Wigan and St Helens all suffered heavy defeats against their Australian counterparts, and will be keen to return to winning ways in next week’s matches.

Wakefield won their first game of the season with a 14-12 win over Hull KR. Rovers remain without a win this season and have picked up just one point from their opening three games, while Wakefield finally gave their long suffering supporters something to cheer about by picking up their first points of the season. Salford made it two wins from two with a 28-20 win over Widnes, who were unable to repeat the heroics they produced against Leeds last week.
