After a quick summer break to refuel their batteries, the Formula 1 circus heads to the notorious Spa-Francorchamps for the Belgian Grand Prix.
There is a glory that comes from winning at Spa; every driver wants to win, and will do what it takes to win at this historic track.
For Nico Rosberg, he will come into the race hoping he can be on top form, just like he was at the beginning of the season. The German is 19 points behind team-mate and championship leader, Lewis Hamilton.
However, Spa will not be an easy race for Hamilton. The British driver has had to go over the permitted amount of engine part changes; thus the World Champion will start from “the back of the field or very close” said Mercedes.
The rest of the field will battle around the track which is based in the region of the Ardennes forest.
Spa is notable for its unpredictability. The 4.352 mile track can have beautiful weather at one end, but rain at the other. This is one of the teams biggest tests, deciding on strategy when the rain arrives at one end of the track, but is not apparent at another part, is often quick tricky.
The most notorious parts of the track is Eau Rouge. After negotiating the turn 1 hairpin, drivers are thrust into the sweeping left-right-left section. Taken flat out, this section of the track is one of the challenges a driver will face whilst racing at Spa.
44 laps of this demanding circuit for both drivers and teams will show who has conquered Spa-Francorchamps.
Spa has held the Belgian Grand Prix 48 times. It is one of the few tracks from the inaugural season in 1950 that still appear on the race calendar.
Last year Lewis Hamilton won the race with a two second lead, but this weekend the World Champion will be fighting from the back in hopes to keep his Championship lead.
