Two giants of the sport meet in the Snooker World Championships last 16 on Sunday the 23rd of April when Neil Robertson faces off against world number eight, Marco Fu.

Both players had different routes to the last 16 with Robertson comfortably coming through his first-round match as a 10-4 victor over Thai player Noppon Saengkham.

Marco Fu however made tougher work of his first-round opponent.
Fu found himself 5-0 down to qualifier Luca Brecel. The qualifier then took a 7-2 lead after the first session of play.

Despite five frames down and Brecel only needing three frames to win, Fu fought back and booked his place in the next round after a tight 10-9 victory.

Robertson won the World Championships in 2010 after beating Graeme Dott in the final 18-13.

Fu has reached the semi-final stages twice in his career, one as recent as last year where he was defeated by eventual winner, Mark Selby.

Robertson and Fu have played each other 19 times during their respected careers. They have both won nine times, with the other game ending in a draw.

They have never played against each other in the World Championship’s and little separates the players on the world rankings, with Robertson ranked 9th and Fu 8th.

Whatever the outcome, this looks to be another tight game of snooker that can see either player progress to the quarter-finals.
