Deal Done for De Gea?

Spanish media including newspaper Marca, are claiming that after months of rumours and apparent negotiations between Manchester United and Real Madrid, a deal has been agreed for United goalkeeper David De Gea.

The fee is believed to be between 30 and 35 million Euros.

This may come as a surprise for some as only a week ago, United manager Louis Van Gaal firmly stated that the keeper would not be sold this summer. However it now appears De Gea has got his dream move back to Madrid. The final part of the transfer seems to know hinge on Madrid keeper Keylor Navas travelling in the opposite direction.

Manchester United fans may now be thinking why this has been left until a day before the transfer window closes, the answer to that question is one that only Van Gaal and United Chief executive Ed Woodward will know.

De Gea will be a huge loss for United as his form last season played a huge part in the club regaining Champions League status, putting in man of the match performances time after time and yet again being named United’s player of the season.

Time could be the only thing preventing the deal from being concluded as the Spanish transfer window shuts at midnight tonight. However with personal terms apparently already agreed, the transfer will only need a medical for it to be concluded. Any transfer of Navas going to United could be completed tomorrow as the window remains open in England until 6pm on Tuesday.
