Chelsea winger Marko Marin has left Stamford Bridge to join Turkish side Trabzonspor on a season long loan after failing to take a chance to be a part of the Blue’s first team squad.

The German joined the Stamford Bridge club in 2012 from Werder Bremen but has failed to make any significant impact for the club and has been restricted to just 15 appearances scoring the one goal in the process. Marin has been out on loan for the past two seasons, firstly at Spanish side Sevilla and then last season at Italian side Fiorentina before finishing up at Belgian side Anderlecht.

Marin is a German international but last featured for his country in 2010 and has now joined Trabzonspor on loan with an option for the transfer to be made permanent at the end of the season. An attacking midfielder, Marin first shot to prominence at Borussia Monchengladbach before a move to Bremen saw Chelsea first take interest.

Marin could have played international football for Bosnia and Herzegovina but choose to play for Germany after failing to receive any call up to the Bosnian national side and he will now look to kick-start his career and at the age of 26 still has plenty to offer.
