What’s next for Bredan Rodgers?

Newcastle are a club that just seem to be stuck in some form of disappointing loop which involves fresh hope and optimism being thrust upon the club by their notorious sportswear and equipment mogul owner Mike Ashley, only to find themselves languishing in the bottom half of the table after 8 or so games, never to escape for the rest of the season.

There is absolutely no question that Newcastle are a massively underachieving club right now; they should be a top six side. This is a club that used to regularly play in the Champions League and Europa League (then known as the UEFA Cup). The bizarre appointment of Steve McClaren to the Newcastle helm is an indication of the worrying state that this club is in, however Rodgers managed to change the fortunes of Liverpool (another massive club that is under performing) for one season, and this similar challenge that presents itself at Newcastle may just be what Rodgers needs to cure his disappointment at his departure from Merseyside.
