Novak Djokovic warms up for the French Open in perfect style after winning the Rome Masters, beating Roger Federer in the final.
With the French Open due to begin on Sunday, world number one Djokovic was a 6-4 6-3 winner over longtime rival Federer and he moves onto Roland Garros looking to add a ninth major title to his name but a first in Paris.
With British hope Andy Murray pulling out of the tournament to rest up ahead of the second major of the year, it was left to the Croatian to notch up his 5th title of the year and he moves onto the French Open having lost just twice in the calendar year and will go into the tournament as heavy favourite.
With Murray the most likely to challenge Djokovic for the title after Nadal’s loss of form and age beginning to get the better of 17-time major winner Federer, the world number one showed his credentials for the ucoming tournament and he will surely be the man to beat at Rolland Garros
