British pair James Ward and Liam Broady have been knocked out of qualifying for the French Open.
British number three Ward went down in round two of qualifying in three sets to Sweden’s Christian Lindell, who is ranked 94 places below him in the rankings, with a 3-6 7-6 (5-7) 6-2 defeat. Ward was unable to repeat his 2014 run to the first round and will likely drop in the rankings which could prove costly in his quest to break the top 100 in the rankings in 2015.
Broady also went out in three sets to Moldova’s Radu Albot, losing 6-7 (5-7) 7-6 (7-2) 6-2, but this time in round one of qualifying.
There is still hope for two other British men though as Kyle Edmund and Brydan Klein play their round two qualifying matches hoping to make it through to the main draw of Roland Garros
