This season is looking to be another exciting and unpredictable one, as there is no team who looks certain to run away at the top. Here are some of the contenders for the top six, looking at possible challengers for the title.
A team that could well go on to win the Championship this year is Derby Country. Derby have been close to being promoted to the Premier League in the last two years, faltering at the final stages to finish 3rd, losing in the play-off final in 2013/2014, and 8th after a disastrous end to the season last year.
Under the new management of Paul Clement following Steve McLaren’s departure, Derby seem to be building a much stronger team. If they can keep hold of the likes of Will Hughes and Chris Martin, with the addition of Darren Bent and Andreas Weimann from Aston Villa, and Tom Ince from Hull City, they could prove to be a strong force. Derby are due a good full season, so with some positive signings this could be the year they become real contenders for the title.
