Louis van Gaal’s side have been slowly rebuilding over the past 18 months and the club is growing stronger by the day and they have bought well over the summer and with Wayne Rooney’s goalscoring return back underway and a more settled backline, van Gaal will have high hopes of making the latter stages of the competition.

They have bought in a number of players including former PSV star Memphis Depay and he will want to get one over his old team. The experience of Bastian Schweinsteiger will be key in a European campaign and look for him to play a more prominent part as he gets over his injury problems.
