After two rounds of fixtures, Rochdale and Coventry lead the way in the League One table, and now the twenty-four teams face a midweek league fixture. All games kick-off on Tuesday 18th August at 19:45 unless stated.
Coventry v Crewe
The home side will be full of confidence coming into this one against Crewe. Not only are Coventry top of the league, they also scored some great goals against relegated Millwall, who they beat 4-0 on Saturday. Crewe are in fact still searching for their first goal of the season after losing 2-0 to Scunthorpe on Saturday, and drawing 0-0 with Port Vale on the opening day of the season.
Rochdale v Walsall
Blackpool and Rochdale were involved in a game littered with great chances and great saves to match them, but it was Rochdale who came out 2-1 winners on Saturday, lifting them up to second spot in the table, making them the only team along with Coventry that still have a 100% record. Walsall also picked up three points at the weekend, winning away at Southend.
Bradford v Gillingham
Gillingham followed up their 4-0 thumping of Sheffield United on the opening day with a 1-1 draw against Port Vale at Vale Park, and they will be aiming to return to winning ways when they visit The Bantams on Tuesday night. Bradford are at the foot of the table going into this one on goal difference after picking up a point against Shrewsbury on Saturday following a 1-1 draw.
Swindon v Port Vale
Port Vale have drawn their opening two fixtures of the campaign, and they run into Swindon in midweek. Swindon beat Bradford 4-1 on the opening day of the season, and drew on Saturday against promoted Bury. They will be looking to play like they did against Bradford on the opening day, and if they do, they will surely pick up all three points against Vale.
Colchester v Oldham
Oldham can count themselves lucky to be sitting on four points after two games following their 1-0 win over Fleetwood on Saturday. The boys from Highbury missed a number of opportunities to snatch a point or more in that match. This time, Oldham face a trip to Colchester, who have picked up just a point so far this season. The home side drew against Blackpool on the opening day and lost on Saturday away at Peterborough.
Shrewsbury v Chesterfield
The visitors opened up with a 3-1 win over Barnsley on the opening day of the campaign, but fell to defeat on Saturday at the hands of Sheffield United, who had a point to prove. Shrewsbury picked up a point at Bradford at the weekend, and will be keen to get that first win on the board following their opening day defeat to relegated Milwall.
