Premier League News: Arsenal – 13th August

This edition see’s us take a look at the latest news coming out of Arsenal.

• Joel Campbell could be on his way out of the Emirates with Italian side Palermo interested in bringing the Costa Rican striker to their club. Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has flew into London to negotiate the deal, with a loan move preferred, though Arsenal are looking to sell outright (Forza Italian Football)
• Jack Wilshere could be back in action sooner than first thought after he suffered a hairline fracture of his Fibula in a training ground tackle with Gabriel Paulista. Manager Arsene Wenger confirmed he may be back in as little as two weeks. (SportsMole)
• Frenchman Mathieu Flamini has been told he can leave the Emirates on a free transfer. The Midfielder has fallen behind both Francis Coquelin and Mikel Arteta in the pecking order but may be looking for a pay-off to end his stay at Arsenal (ESPN)
• Arsenal are interested in signing Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak but may have to wait with the Spanish side in no hurry to sell the defensive midfielder. Pundits have described Krychowiak as the ideal man to shore up the leaky defence playing just in front of the back four (HITC)
• World Cup final scorer Mario Goetze looks set to stay and fight for his place at Bayern Munich despite interest from a number of sides including Premier League due Arsenal and Manchester United. Goetze has been linked with a move to the Emirates after rumours of a falling out with Pep Guardiola (Daily Star)
• Goalkeeper David Ospina could be on his way out of the club after rumours suggested manager Arsene Wenger was taking a serious look at Olympiacos’s Roberto Jimenez as back-up to former Chelsea keeper Petr Cech. (A Different League)
• Manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Chile winger Alexis Sanchez will be fit to return to the starting line-up for the clash this weekend with Crystal Palace after he was afforded an extended break before the start of the season after his Copa America exploits (Goal.com)
• Tomas Rosicky could be out of action until at least December after the knee injury that he has was discovered to be worse than first feared. The Czech Republic midfielder had surgery on the injury picked up whilst on international duty at the end of the last season (Daily Cannon)
• Reports are suggesting that Manchester United could hijack Arsenal’s move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema with a bid of £50 million reported to have been offered. The French striker has been linked with the Gunners since the start of pre-season (Nile Sports)
