Premier League News: Chelsea – August 13th

With the Premier League back underway, news from your favourite clubs will be coming in thick and fast and here at The Sports Lowdown, we take those clubs with a constant barrage of news and put it all into one place for you. This edition see’s us take a look at the latest news coming out of Chelsea. 

• Kurt Zouma has told the Chelsea hierarchy that they do not need to sign any more defenders as he can play anywhere across the back for the Blues. Zouma is one of five recognised defenders but the Premier League champions have been linked with numerous defenders this summer (IB Times)
• Jose Mourinho remains under fire for the shock axing of club doctor Eva Carneiro from match day attendance after the Chelsea boss criticised the club doctor for leaving the side down to nine men in the final minutes of their 2-2 draw with Swansea City (Give me Sport)
• Ronald Koeman has said that former Chelsea player Oriol Romeu can kick start his career at Southampton after the Spanish Midfielder joined the Saints this week, ending his Stamford Bridge hell by signing a three year deal on the South Coast (Daily Mail)
• Chelsea are to return to South America for 19 year old starlet Kenedy from Fluminense after the Brazilian was granted a work permit ahead of his £6.7 million deal to move to the Premier League champions after impressing on a pre-season trial (Daily Mail)
• Everton boss Roberto Martinez has re-iterated that they are not willing to sell Chelsea and Manchester United target John Stones before the transfer window. England international Stones has been the subject of deep interest from both sides this summer (Pundit Arena)
• Genoa are interested in signing young Chelsea full-back Nathan Ake on a season long loan and are hoping to beat Premier League sides Aston Villa and Leicester City to the signing. The defender has long been the subject of much interest from sides and has been out on loan to Championship sides in the past (Forza Italian Football)
• Paris Saint Germain full-back has again been linked with a move to the Premier League and Stamford Bridge, though the player is keen to remain in Paris and has reportedly been offered a new contract despite the interest from Jose Mourinho’s side. (Sport Witness)
• Chelsea midfielders Juan Cuadrado and Ramires have been linked with a move to Seria A Champions Juventus. Cuadrado has found life difficult at Chelsea following his move last season and Ramires is dispensable for the club (Sport Witness)
