Phil Taylor maintained his unbeaten World Series in Australia record last Sunday when he beat Gary Anderson and James Wade on finals night to pick up a second Perth Darts Masters title.
Now we move onto the second of the Oceanic World Series treble-header in Sydeney for the Coral Sydney Darts Masters, which gets underway on Thursday. The draw has been made in a pre-event launch.
Taylor will be looking to keep that Australia unbeaten record, and he faces the task of beating Clinton Bridge, the sixteen-times World Champion being the number one seed for this particular World Series event.
Number two seed Michael van Gerwen will go head-to-head with Paul Nicholson, who is looking to rebuild his form, but a draw against the number two seed isn’t ideal for Paul.
Adrian Lewis will be looking to climb back into the World’s top four by the end of the year, and he faces Aussie ace Simon Whitlock in a clash that used to occur in the Premier League.
Number four seed Peter Wright will be aiming to better his Perth performance here, and faces Loz Ryder in the first round. Current World Champion and Premier League Champion Gary Anderson will play late qualifier Warren Parry on Thursday evening.
Stephen Bunting, who hasn’t had much success in the World Series so far this year comes up against David Platt, whilst Perth Darts Masters finalist will play Craig Caldwell.
Raymond van Barneveld is holding onto a spot in the top sixteen in the World, and will need to cement this later on in the year, and he will play another late qualifier Cody Harris in his first round match.
