Transfer Gossip – August 20th

The end of the summer transfer window is less than two weeks away and clubs are starting to shape up who will be in their squads. Will your club panic buy or have they had their eye on someone for a while? Here are the latest rumours coming out of your club!

Premier League/European

• Chelsea have reportedly tabled a £39 million bid for Monaco’s 19 yeard old star striker Anthony Martial, who only joined the club in 2013 (Metro)
• Manchester United have not ruled out a move for striker Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid with the goals seemingly drying up at Old Trafford (Daily Star)
• Chelsea captain John Terry is the source of interest from Turkish giants Fenerbahce with reports suggesting a January transfer window move could be on the cards (Daily Mail)
• Watford striker Matej Vydra could be sent out on loan to Nottingham Forest despite recently signing a new five year contract with the Premier League new boys (Daily Mail)
• Lucas Leiva could be set to end his Anfield nightmare to move out on loan to Turkish club Besiktas for the season after being told he is not needed at Liverpool
• Juventus are keen on Spurs pair Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela but boss Mauricio Pochettino insists that they are not for sale (Independent)
• Aston Villa are interesting in signing want away Swansa City striker Michu who has been out in the cold at the Liberty Stadium for a while (7500 to Holte)
• West Brom and Norwich City are set to miss out on Japanese international Yuto Nagatomo after the full-back looks set to join Serie A side Genoa.
• Newcastle and Swansea are set to battle it out for Serbian midfielder Filip Djuricic after Portuguese side Benfica lowered the asking price (Inside Futbol)
• Stoke City boss Mark Hughes is not ruling out a move for Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk with Southampton also monitoring the situation (Stoke Sentinel)
• Manchester United are considering a move for Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli after being pipped to the signing of Barcelona striker Pedro (Daily Star)
• Arsenal are to turn their attentions to Villarreal midfielder Bruno Soriano as a cheaper alternative to Grzegorz Krychowiak (Arsenal Latest)
