Aaron Lennon has joined Everton from Tottenham Hotspur on a three year deal for an undisclosed fee with the England winger seemingly out of favour at White Hart Lane.
The former Spurs winger started his career at Leeds United and has moved back north to join the Toffee’s after a successful loan spell at Goodison Park at the back end of last season. Lennon had fallen down the pecking order under Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino and the move to Everton will revive hopes for Lennon to kick start his career.
A loan spell at Goodison Park last season saw the winger hit two goals in fourteen appearances and the 28 year old joins an Everton side in need of a boost after a quiet summer in the transfer market.
Manager Roberto Martinez said as reported on BBC Sport “He had a major role in the second half of our season and we’re looking forward to Aaron kicking on and continuing to enjoy his football, as well as being the productive player we know he can be.
“He is well-respected in the dressing room, his experience in the Premier League is immense and he will immediately add to our squad and to the ambition we have as a club.”
