15. Southampton
Losing both Nathanial Clyne and Morgan Schneiderlin is a big blow to Ronald Koeman and hard players to replace. Oriol Romeu could be the quality that is finally allowed to show but Virgil van Dijk is a liability waiting to happen. Stekelenburg is an experienced replacement for the injured Fraser Forster and Steven Caulker has the talent butn really needs it to show. A season under the radar could be good for the Saints as they rebuild the squad.
14. Arsenal
Arsenal are only sitting as high as this because the one signing they did make is a class apart in former Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech. The continued lack of buying from Arsene Wenger is concerning for the Gunners when the money is there to spend and we’d love to see Arsenal go all out to challenge by bringing in a striker. For us they will always remain on the outside of competing for the title unless they start to splash the cash.
13. Watford
Watford have had another large influx of players into the squad on their return to the Premier League as well as a new manager and it may take them time to bed into the league and get a settled side. This could cost them and too many foreign players with no experience in the league is not a great thing. Etienne Capoue is not a bad signing and were looking forward to seeing Nathan Ake too but more experience could be vital in January.
12. Everton
Everton’s biggest success was holding onto defender John Stones despite interest from Chelsea and they will need his experience if they are finish in the top 10 this term. New signing Tom Cleverley gives them some class in the middle of the park and Gerard Deulofeu is back to provide the flair and this time it’s permanent. Manager Roberto Martinez has trimmed his squad of the age and they can continue their style of play under the Spanish boss with little upheaval.
11. Swansea City
Gary Monk is developing nicely as a manager and keeping the hit-man that is Batafembi Gomis at the club could see them have an excellent season. Andre Ayew is a better player than his brother Jordan at Aston Villa and he can be a hit alongside Gomis up top. The squad has seen none of its main men move away and that will help with the consistency. If Monk has got Swansea flying by January a signing or two could take them onto the next level.
