Transfer Rumours – Sept 7th

With the transfer window now shut, thoughts are already turning to January and who might be in the market for some added strength as they look to boost their squads ahead of the run in.

• Swansea and Everton are eyeing up a deal for Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy as the Frenchman eyes a move to keep his Euro 2016 hopes alive (Daily Star)
• Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez is a shock target for Spanish giants Barcelona who are eyeing up a replacement for former player Pedro (Daily Mail)
• Manchester United are braced for another bid from Valencia for Ander Herrera after turning down an approach from the La Liga side on transfer deadline day (Bleacher Report)
• Manchester United are preparing to battle it out for the £110 million signing of their former player Cristiano Ronaldo with PSG (Daily Express)
• Everton are bracing themselves for a battle to hold onto highly rated full-back Seamus Coleman with PSG, Chelsea and Manchester United all interested (Daily Star)
• Louis van Gaal is targeting a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus in January and sending Adnan Januzaj on loan to the German side was seen as groundwork (Mirror)
• Branislav Ivanovic could be jettisoned by Chelsea in January as they look to offload him before he is free to leave next summer (SoccerLens)
