The Montreal Canidens have finally lost a game in the NHL after winning their opening nine games of the season.
Only two teams in history have started the season in better form, with the Toronto Maple Leafs winning their first ten games back in 1994 and the Buffalo Sabres, who won their first ten games back in 2006.
The Canadiens went into their tenth game of the season against the Vancouver Canucks hoping to become the third team in history to win their first games. However, they were comfortably beaten by the Canucks, who ran out 5-1 winners.
Despite the defeat, the Canadiens are still well placed at the top of the table having amassed 18 points, leaving them six points clear of their closest rivals, the Tampa Bay Lightning. Montreal will be hoping to get back to winning ways in their next game, when they take on the Edmonton Oilers.
