Jack Grealish
It is easy to forget that just over a year ago Jack Grealish was playing for Notts County in League having been unable to break into the Aston Villa first team. However, a series of eye catching performances have seen the youngster linked with an England call-up.
Grealish only confirmed his intention to play for England a few weeks ago, having previously played for the Republic of Ireland Under-21’s. Despite an attempt from Ireland to get him to pledge his international allegiance to the country, he instead chose England and will now be eyeing a place in the England squad at Euro 2016.
However, Grealish has a host of players ahead of him in the pecking order. Although Grealish is seen as an attacking midfielder with plenty of flair, England already have Ross Barkley, Raheem Sterling and Adam Lallana who all play in a similar position to Grealish. There are also concerns about his maturity after the 20-year-old was photographed in a drunken state while on holiday.
While Grealish will have to show he can play well on a consistent basis before he is given an England call-up, Hodgson may well decide to give the youngster a chance to show what he can do in one of the friendlies coming up, and if the Aston Villa man can prove he can perform against the best, he may well find himself on the plane to France.
