- Europe
Much has been made of the recent struggles and failings of the English clubs on European fronts. Both United and City are possibly the best positioned clubs to qualify for the knockout stages as it stands. City’s group is no doubt filled with tougher opponents and they have coped well with the challenges they have faced and presently reside in 2nd place in the group, collecting six points out of a possible nine.
United who should are expected to emerge triumphant from their group are finding it harder than expected to secure qualification to the next stage. Four points from a possible nine leaves the group wide open but United have the luxury of two out of three remaining games at home.
VERDICT
Again City for me gets the vote on this front. Their group is by far the harder and they have managed to perform well throughout despite a disappointing defeat to Juventus.
