A review of this week’s upcoming Premier League action. Manchester City welcome Newcastle United where they will be looking to bounce back after back to back defeats.
Chelsea will be looking to secure their second home win of the season when they host Southampton and on Sunday afternoon we can look forward to an eagerly awaited clash when Manchester United travel to the Emirates.
Crystal Palace V West Brom, 15:00, Selhurst Park.
The Baggies travel to London on Saturday where they’ll be looking to take all three points back to the Midlands with them. After Monday’s tight loss they’ll be looking to get back on track while Palace will be wanting to build on last Sunday’s win away from home at Watford.
Aston Villa V Stoke, 15:00, Villa Park.
Villa welcome Stoke on Saturday afternoon where they’ll be looking to pick up a much needed win. Having lost their previous three games Villa are currently 18th in the league table and they will need a big performance to beat Stoke. Stoke are currently only one place above them, although playing good football at times this season, they’ve only managed to win once this campaign.
Bournemouth V Watford, 15:00, Vitality Stadium.
After Bournemouth’s impressive start to the campaign they have recently been in stuttering form. They’ve only one once in their last four league games, (D1 L2), and will be looking to beat fellow promoted team Watford. Watford will be looking to bounce back after just losing out last week at home to Palace, Yohan Cabaye’s penalty was enough to see them off.
Manchester City V Newcastle United, 15:00, Etihad Stadium.
Having won their first five matches of the season City have recently had a loss of form. They’ve lost twice in the league and once in Europe. After getting a late winner midweek they’ll be confident of picking up three points in front of their home fans. Newcastle have had a disappointing start to the season so far, failing to win a match all season. They’ll take a lot of confidence out of the way they played against Chelsea during the first sixty minutes of the match but will feel disappointed to not have picked up all three points.
Norwich City V Leicester City, 15:00, Carrow Road.
Norwich host Leicester on Saturday afternoon where they’ll be looking to get back to winning ways after West Ham’s late equaliser last week spoiled the party. Leicester suffered their first defeat of the season last week at the hands of Arsenal. They’ll be looking to rediscover that impressive form that made them unbeaten during the first six matches of the season.
