Cleveland Browns @ St Louis Rams
The Edward Jones Dome plays host to the Cleveland Browns this week, with both sides having accumulated two victories so far. The 2-4 Browns have been swapping QBs all season, and have not chosen a definitive starter as yet, but their biggest problem is on the other side of the ball, with their defence ranking 30th in the league. That isn’t the problem for the Rams, whose defence ranks 10th. It is their 32nd ranked offence which is the problem.
Houston Texans @ Miami Dolphins
The 2-4 Texans have had success in this fixture in recent years, wing each other last three games, but they have been on and off this year, winning just twice. The dolphins have also only won twice, but having had their bye week. Looking at the stats, it is a surprise that Houston have such a poor record, with the 6th ranked offence and 11th ranked defence. This one is a tough one to call for the neutral.
New York Jets @ New England Patriots
This is arguably the biggest game of the weekend for the situation, with the 4-1 Jets travelling to Foxborough to play the 5-0 Patriots. Tom Brady has been on fire since having his ban overturned, and will look to inflict more pain on their AFC East rivals here. The Pats won the last meeting by a single point last December, and will be hoping for a more comfortable victory her, but the Jets, who have the best defence and rushing games in the league will be a good match this weekend.
Oakland Raiders @ San Diego Chargers
San Diego will host Oakland at the Qualcomm Stadium knowing they have the advantage of the Raiders in recent games, winning their last three. This AFC West match-up sees both sides come into the game with just two wins, and both will look to boost their play-off chances with a victory here. With Philip Rivers’ right arm on fire, the Chargers have the best ranked passing game, along with the whole offence, and will look to exploit that against the Raiders defence.
Dallas Cowboys @ New York Giants
The big NFC East clashes keep coming thick and fast. This week, Dallas travel to the Meadowlands to face the 3-3 New York Giants. The Cowboys are 2-3, but know a victory here could see them go top of the division. All four teams are within a victory of each other, and with Dallas having beaten the Giants in their last three games, they will be confident of doing so again. Eli Manning will have something to say about that in this one, however.
Sunday Night Football
Philadelphia Eagles @ Carolina Panthers
Watching that game will be the Philadelphia Eagles, who currently top the group with a 3-3 record. However, they face a tough trip to the perfect Panthers in the late Sunday game. Carolina re 5-0 after their bye week, and know that this game will be a tough test, having lost to the Eagles by three scores last November. The Panthers will have also seen how the Falcons have done before playing, and will know whether they can extend their lead at the top of the NFC South.
Monday Night Football
Baltimore Ravens @ Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals are the highest-scoring team in the league up to this point, accumulating over 200 points in their six games. They host the Ravens on Monday night, aiming to move to 5-2. The Ravens are 1-5, and having a terrible time of this year, sitting bottom of the AFC North, knowing they have to pick up soon or the play-offs are not an option this time round.
Byes: Chicago Bears (2-4), Cincinnati Bengals (6-0), Denver Broncos (6-0), Green Bay Packers (6-0)
