South Africa vs Wales
South Africa came out of their pool on top, although at one point it looked like they could go crashing out of the tournament at the first hurdle after their opening game defeat to Japan. However, the Springboks recovered and went on to top the group after convincing victories over Samoa, Scotland and the USA. The three wins will put any doubts to bed about their ability to perform and they will now be confident of beating whoever is put in front of them for the rest of the tournament.
Wales could hardly have had a worse tournament injury wise, with several key players being ruled out before the tournament even began and more departing throughout the tournament. Although they were unable to break down Australia, their narrow victory of England and Fiji will give Wales the confidence to get over the line if the game is tight.
While Wales have done well to get this far, South Africa should be a step too far for them. Even if Wales were at full strength South Africa would still be the favourites, so expect South Africa to win comfortably and book their place in the semi-finals.
