Andy Sullivan has won the Portugal Master by nine shots after shooting a final round 66. Sullivan has been in superb form all week and it marks the 29-year-old’s third win of 2015.
Sullivan went into the final round in pole position and never looked like losing his grip on the lead. Chris Wood, another Englishman, finished in second place, a distant nine shots behind Sullivan.
Several European Ryder Cup stars also played in the event. Stephen Gallacher finished on eleven-under, Nicolas Colsaerts finished on nine-under and Thomas Bjorn finished on seven-under, although none of them came to close to mounting a challenge as Sullivan won in emphatic fashion.
Sullivan turned professional in 2011 but only won his first professional tournament earlier this year. He will be hoping to continue his impressive form next year, and if he does there is no reason why he cannot challenge for a Ryder Cup spot.
In the past the Portugal Masters has been won by the likes of Lee Westwood and Shane Lowry since it was introduced to the European Tour in 2007.
