9. Renault R25
Speaking of Mild Seven, the cigarette brand maintained its status as main sponsor of the Enstone-based F1 team team after Benetton’s re-branding into the Reanult F1 Team. Where the Benetton B195 lacked in identity, the Renault R25 delivered. A more streamlined and clear design compared to the B195, the R25 earned its place in the annals of F1 history as the car that, driven by a certain young and talented Spaniard named Fernando Alonso, dethroned Ferrari an ended its 6-year period of domination. The R25’s gorgeous-looking chassis was complemented by an equally gorgeous livery. Simple, but effective, the yellow-blue paint scheme became synonymous with Renault and still remains one of the most recognizable designs in the history of the sport.
