5. Ferrari 641
The top 5 is kicked-off by the most beautiful F1 car produced in Maranello. Driven by a dream-team line-up made up of reigning champion Alain Prost who moved from McLaren, and Britain’s Nigel Mansell during the 1990 season, the 641 was the car the engineers in Italy were hoping was finally capable beating the all-conquering McLarens. The car ended up winning 6 races during that year and Prost came close to snatching the title from under the nose of Ayrton Senna himself. The bitter feud between the two former team-mates reached a new height when the two collided for the second year in a row in Suzuka, this time handing the championship to the Brazilian. Design-wise, the car just speaks for itself. You can’t look at it and not understand why the prettiest F1 cars ever were in the early 90’s. The all-red livery looks a tad bland though, with not that much individual touch to it, keeping the 641 from ranking higher on the list.
