Youngster Wins British Masters

Young English golfer Matthew Fitzpatrick has won the British Masters after carding a final round 68 to finish fifteen under par and claim victory.

Fitzpatrick finished two sets clear of more experienced golfers Shane Lowry and Soren Kjeldsen, who both finished on thirteen under par. The tournament had received a high amount of publicity after returning to the European tour and the quality of golf on show did not disappoint.

Big names Luke Donald and Graeme McDowell both played in the event, although neither made a serious charge for the title. Donald finished on eleven under while McDowell finished ten shots off the lead on five under.

And while before the event all eyes would have been on the big names who had turned up to play in the event, young Fitzpatrick may now find that he comes under more scrutiny as one of the brightest talents in British golf. He will be hoping this marks the start of a charge up the world rankings, and will be hoping from more titles in the future.
