Kim Huybrechts
The Belgian star appeared in the Premier League last year, and actually played very well, and his position at the bottom of the table following nine weeks of fixtures certainly did not reflect the way he played in those nine games.
After finishing bottom after nine weeks and suffering ‘relegation’, the World number thirteen reached the semi-finals at a European Tour event and followed that up with a final appearance at a Players Championship event shortly after. However, the Belgian lost in the first round to Peter Wright at the World Matchplay in July before again showing good form on the ProTour following the summer break. A second round loss at the Grand Prix followed before he won a European Tour event, beating Peter Wright in the final.
Good ProTour form sees Huybrechts in the picture for next year’s Premier League for me, but in my opinion he won his place last year at the Grand Slam, and could follow suit here, but to stand a chance, his TV form needs to improve, who a couple of quarter-finals would certainly aid him in his fight for a Premier League spot.
