Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany has been ruled out for a further “three or four” weeks according to manager Manuel Pellegrini.
The Belgian defender, who made an albeit brief comeback in the Citizens win over Sunderland on Boxing Day, has already missed 11 of City’s 19 Premier League games.
His calf injury was originally sustained back in September during a Champions League tie with Juventus, and after a cameo appearance on Boxing day, his time back on the sideline has been extended further.
“It is the same calf but a different part,” said Pellegrini.
Despite Kompany’s absence, City earned a credible draw, and more importantly a clean sheet, last night aftet a goalless draw at Premier League high-flyers Leicester.
