Manchester City have completed the signing of Nolito from Celta Vigo for £13.8M after the Spaniard agreed a four-year deal.
The 29-year old becomes incoming manager Pep Guardiola’s second signing of the summer, having signed Ilkay Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund earlier in the summer.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the former Barcelona B player who’ll now be reuniting with Guardiola told, “I’ll try to bring as much as I possibly can,” he said. “I’ll do everything that the manager asks of me, try my absolute best and do everything I can to try to repeat the form I’ve shown throughout my career at various clubs.
“It’s just about trying to play my normal game and let’s hope that I can help Manchester City to win games.
“I think that Pep Guardiola is one of the best managers in the world. He knows a lot about the game and he’s going to help me progress as a player and I’m sure he’ll get the best out of me.”
Nolito is undoubtedly a top signing for the Blue Moon who have struggled for quality in the wider areas in particular, his effectiveness further reflected by his decent record as a left-winger at Celta Vigo where he scored 39 goals as well as assisting 23 times in 103 appearances across three seasons.
