Swansea City have relieved Francesco Guidolin of his duties and appointed former USA manager Bob Bradley as first team coach.
It’s been a difficult start to the Premier League season for the Swans as they sit just outside of the relegation zone after seven matches.
The pressure had been mounting on Guidolin after his side failed to win a game since the opening day and Saturday’s home defeat to Liverpool was the final straw.
Guidolin’s sacking was announced on the day of his 61st birthday.
Swansea were rumoured to have been in talks with a number of possible replacements including former Wales captain and Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs.
Bob Bradley is the one chosen to take over from Guidolin; the former USA boss has left Ligue 2 side Le Havre to take charge of the Swans.
He has a lot of experience managing in America as well as being the coach of Egypt and Norwegian side Stabaek.
The concern for Swansea supporters is that Bradley has no experience of managing in English football; however the board feel he is the right man to take the club forward.
In addition to Guidolin, Diego Bortoluzzi, Gabrielle Ambrosetti and Claudio Bordon have also departed from the club.
Bradley doesn’t have a lot of time to get used to the ways of English football and is thrown in at the deep end with Swansea’s next game being a trip to the Emirates to face Arsenal.
