Daft as it may seem, Liverpool are crying out for a striker with Daniel Sturridge’s injury concerns and the lack of appearances for Rickie Lambert. Robin van Persie has a couple of good seasons left in him and could be a key aquasition for Brendan Rodgers, as he looks to plot a return to better times at Anfield.

At the age of 31 it is doubtful that a Chelsea, Manchester City or Arsenal will be interested in the striker, so if the Dutch international wants to play for a top club in England, Liverpool may well be that side.
