Bwin World Cup Of Darts Day One Preview

Sixteen of the thirty-two teams desperate to win the World Cup will kick off their campaigns on Thursday night, and some of the big hitters will take to the Frankfurt stage in Germany looking to progress to the second round. The first round will be a single doubles match, best of nine legs.

Spain, who have claimed a couple of massive scalps since the World Cup Of Darts creation will be the number twelve seeds represented by Cristo Reyes and Antonio Alcinas will begin against Robert Wagner and Vegar Elvevoll of Norway.

Haruki Muramatsu and Morihiro Hashimoto, who recently booked their places in the Japan Darts Masters later this month representing Japan, will be taking on Jun Chen and Xuekie Huang from China.

Austria, who could have a decent run in this tournament will be represented by the experienced Mesur Suljovic and the former World Youth Finalist Rowby John-Rodriguez will begin the World Cup against the Czech Republic’s Michal Kocik and Pavel Jirkal.

Dyson Parody and Manuel Vilerio will be flying the flag for Gibraltar, and their first round opponents will be Italy, who will be represented by Daniele Petri and Marco Brentagani.

Brothers Kim and Ronny Huybrechts will be proudly looking to take Belgium far in this tournament after reaching the final in 2013, and their campaign will begin with a match against Lourence Ilagan and Gilbert Ulang of the Philippines.

England will have very high hopes for this tournament and will be aiming to win the World Cup of Darts come Sunday evening, and Denmark’s Per Laursen and Per Skau will be looking to cause a massive upset by beating Phil Taylor and Adrian Lewis in the first round.

Germany will be represented by young star Max Hopp and Jyhan Artut, and the duo will begin as the number nine seeds and they will come up against India’s Ashfaque Sayed and Nitin Kumar in the first round of the competition.

In the final match of the evening, Australia, very much the outsiders for the tournament seeded as number four, Simon Whitlock and Paul Nicholson will come up against Boris Koltsov and Aleksei Kadochnikov of Russia.
