2. Williams FW14B
Regarded as the most technically advanced F1 car of its period, the dominant Williams FW14B caused quite a stir in the world of Formula 1. It a was a car that relied heavily on various innovative electronic driver-aids such as traction control, active suspension, and for a brief time anti-lock brakes. The result was that, on many occasions, Williams drivers Nigel Mansell and Riccardo Patrese could gain entire seconds over the rest of the fields in just a few laps. The car was in a league of its own as Mansell won 9 races (a record at the time) and managed to score 14 out of 16 pole positions during the 1992 season, the Briton finally winning his much coveted first world title. Now, if there were a car beauty contest that year, the FW14B would’ve won that too. It is yet another car on this list sporting a white-blue-yellow paint scheme, which proves just how well these colours go with each other. Still, it’s not the great livery that gave the FW14B the second place on our podium, as the car owes much of its aesthetic excellence to its magnificent bodywork. The beautiful, flowing shapes of the Williams FW14B do all the talking and altogether form a sublime looking machine.
