In a press conference this morning, Barcelona full back Dani Alves was expected to clarify his future. He has in fact now made the situation all the more unclear.
Barcelona will continue to wait on Alves. The Brazilian now saying his decision will be made after Barcelona’s Champions League final against Juventus on June 6th.
The aim of this press conference now seems to have been to add extra pressure on the Barca hierarchy to improve the contract they have already offered to Alves.
Since January, Alves and his agent have been free to talk to clubs around Europe. French champions Paris Saint German have appeared to the front runners for the full backs signature, however a handful of clubs across Europe have been and still are monitoring the situation.
Manchester United are very keen on bringing the full back to England as they look to solve whats been a problem position for them this summer. Arsenal have also been linked with Alves in the past week, but with Arsenal appearing strong in that position already. It seems highly unlikely he would leave the Camp Nou without the guarantee of first team football.
