As the season starts again in August, it’s that time of year when people start making their predictions for which team is going to win the Premier League, for which teams will finish in the top four and also which teams will be relegated. Our writer Ethan Gore assesses the Premier League’s top six teams for next season on signings already made, signings that could be made and where they could – realistically – finish.

Chelsea

Last seasons Champions and the favourites yet again for the title. Already, Mourinho has swooped into the transfer market with intentions of signing large again and his first summer signing was Radamel Falcao, on loan, from AS Monaco. Although he was very disappointing upfront for Manchester United last season, Jose Mourinho is confident he can return the Colombian striker to his goalscoring form once again.

Chelsea have also been made favourites to sign Asmir Begovic to replace the out-going Petr Cech who will be joining rivals Arsenal for a reported fee of £11m. Chelsea still may look towards signing another midfielder and defender with John Stones being named as a potential future replacement for John Terry. However, the London club haven’t got much to improve and therefore won’t be as active as other clubs in this transfer window.

Predicted finish – 1st
