Australian Duo To Appear In Three World Series Events


The PDC have announced today that ‘The Asset’ Paul Nicholson and ‘The Wizard’ Simon Whitlock will both be competition in all three of the World Series events to be held in Australia and New Zeland this year.

Whitlock and Nicholson will be best of friends next week as they will be representing Australia in the World Cup Of Darts, but come August, they will be enemies as they will try to beat each other should they meet in Perth, Sydney and Auckland.

The PDC will be represented by Michael van Gerwen, Phil Taylor, Gary Anderson, Adrian Lewis, Peter Wright, James Wade, Raymond van Barneveld, Stephen Bunting in the TABtouch Perth Darts Masters whilst Paul Nicholson and Simon Whitlock will represent Oceania along with Kyle Anderson, who will also appear as an invited player. Nicholson, Whitlock and Anderson will be joined by the DPA number one, DPNZ number one and DOSH number one. Thye will be joined by qualifiers that will be determined around a week before the main event.

The representatives of the PDC will be the same as they were in Perth for the tournament in Sydney less than a week later. Oceanic representatives Nicholson and Whitlock will be joined by the DPA numbers one and two and DPNZ number one. They will take part alongside three qualifiers who will be determined just a couple of days before the event.

The PDC will once again be represented by the same players in Auckland, whilst the Oceanic representatives will be Whitlock and Nicholson one DPA qualifier, DPNZ number one and four qualifiers decided by separate events that are to be arranged. The DPA Qualifier to come from mini-ranking list based on performances in a series of events in the run-in to the event.

Qualifying Events- 17th-19th August

Auckland Darts Masters- 28th August- 30th August
