Champions League winners Barcelona have signed Aleix Vidal from Sevilla, despite their transfer embargo.
The 25 year old arrives at the Nou Camp for a fee reported to be worth £16 million, but he cannot play until January 2016 due to the club’s transfer situation.
The treble winners were banned from signing any players in 2015 after the club were found guilty of the way they signed players under the age of 18, according to FIFA rules.
But Vidal, who arrives on a five year deal, could be a like for like replacement for current right back Dani Alves, who is likely to be on his way out in the summer when his contract expires.
Vidal, who can play anywhere along the right side, impressed in his debut season for Sevilla, winning the Europa League and earning his first call up to the Spanish national side.
The 25 year old began his career at local rivals Espanyol, before a three year spell with Almeria.
