City to make improved offer for Sterling

A bid of £25m plus £5m in add-ons from Manchester City for Raheem Sterling was rejected by Liverpool last night and it has been confirmed that the Reds’ are holding out for a much larger bid of around the £50m region as they aim to keep their most prized asset at the club this summer despite failing to reach an agreement in contract negotiations with the player and his agent.

Manchester City have been rumoured to have made a new bid of around £40m, not matching the Reds’ valuation of £50m but coming close – trying to haggle the Reds’ price-tag down as much as they can as they want to get the best possible deal for the young English winger as they can get.

Earlier this week, it was confirmed that James Milner would leave Manchester City and join Liverpool on July 1st on a free transfer and therefore quick movement from the Citizens for a new English winger to fill the gap has been made as they want to sign Raheem Sterling before Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid enter the race.

It is believed that the 20-year-old winger would prefer a move back to London therefore making the situation harder for City however a £180,000-a-week contract has been reported to have been offered to the winger should he sign for Manchester City.

Liverpool’s valuation of Sterling has put many teams off signing him but Manchester City are refusing to give up as they desperately need to add more home-grown players to the squad in order to abide with UEFA and the FA’s rules and regulations. Raheem Sterling would be a massive improvement for the Citizens and would more than likely fill that space that James Milner has left.

Manchester United are also keen on signing the 20-year-old who was crowned as European Golden Boy of the Year for 2015 however they have made immediately informed that they have no chance of succoring a deal with the Reds as they refuse to sell to a huge rival.
