With the US Open set to start in less than a week, The Sports Lowdown takes a look at the runners and riders in this year’s competition. After looking at previous champions and the American contenders, we will now look at which players in Europe and Australia will fancy their chances of winning the trophy.
Adam Scott
Australian Scott has a poor record at the US Open, only finishing the in top ten once, which he achieved last year. He won his only Major to date back in 2013 at Augusta after a dramatic play-off.
The 34 year old started 2015 in the top five in the rankings, but has slipped down to 12th following a series of poor performances this year. Scott will be encouraged by his recent recorded in Majors, as he has achieved five top ten finishes in his last nine outings.
