Former Atletici Madrid manager Quique Sanchez Flores has become the 5th manager of Watford in less than a year.
The club have confirmed that former manager Slavisa Jokanovic will leave the club when his contract expires shortly after failing to agree terms, despite leading the Hornets to the Premier League last season.
It is reported that Jokanovic wanted £2.5 million a year to manage the Vicarage Road club but Watford were only willing to offer £1 million up front with a further £1 million based on performances.
It has been a turbulent year for the North London club with no less than 4 managers coming and going since the beginning of last season, though they were ultimately rewarded for their patience with a return to the Premier League, finishing runners-up to Bournemouth.
Flores has signed a two year contract with the club and will be looking to keep Watford in the Premier League. He will be expected to use his extensive contacts in the game to secure safety for the Vicarage Road club.
